HOST
ANDREW MCGILL is a stand-up comic and storyteller born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. You can catch him all over NYC doing stand-up and telling stories. He also teaches English at a high school in Brooklyn.
FEATURED STORYTELLERS
KATERINA LYUBLIN was born in Kharkiv, Ukraine. Her family left USSR as refugees and settled in Michigan, United States in 1989. After graduating from High School she got her Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems Management at Wayne State University. Now Katerina works for General Motors as Mobility Solutions Architect. In her spare time, she loves to travel, paint, read and spend a lot of time with her family and friends.
A.J. JACOBS is an author, journalist, lecturer and human guinea pig. He has written four New York Times bestsellers that combine memoir, science, humor and a dash of self-help. Among his books are The Year of Living Biblically and The Know-It-All. He has told several Moth stories, and given several TED talks that have amassed over 10 million views. His latest book is The Puzzler, which Booklist called “ridiculously entertaining,” and The New York Times called “A romp, both fun and funny.” He was the answer to 1 Down in the March 8, 2014 New York Times crossword puzzle. He is the owner of the world’s hardest and most time-consuming puzzle ever made.
BONNIE LEVISON fell in love with storytelling when she walked into her first Moth StorySLAM 15 years ago. She became a passionate fan - ok, so the restraining order called her a rabid stalker - and eventually begged her way into volunteering for The Moth. Today she is a part-time instructor with MothWorks. She co-founded The Nantucket Comedy Festival, hosted CT radio show Anything Goes, and hosts CT-based storytelling show, The Story Barn, currently in its 11th year.
HASNA MUHAMMAD is a visual artist, writer, and educator whose work focuses on family, social justice, education, and the human condition. Her photography has been exhibited in various cities in the United States, and her book, Breathe In the Sky: Prayers Poems & Photographs will be published this fall.
Hasna is an education activist who provides professional preparation for individuals and organizations that focus on diversifying executive, educational, and civic leadership forces. She is a 2018-2019 Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture Fellow and a 2022 Moth Storyteller. Hasna was born, raised, and still lives in New York where she and her husband raised three children, but that’s a whole ‘nother story.
FAUZIA ZAMAN-MALIK is an Attorney working for Accenture. She lives in Brooklyn. She is of South Asian descent, born in Zambia Kitwe. Her family and her ancestors were in the South Asian diaspora, migrating from India to East Africa to the UK. She and her family came to the US in late 1979 and ended up in Houston, Texas. She loves storytelling and is working on documenting and sharing the many interesting stories from her life and her family.
